Opening Convocation

So, How was Opening Convocation? I heard that we had some small friends join us. I was interesting to watch the Junior Marshalls and the Seniors quietly, just raise their legs to keep them "rodent" free. I hope the Freshmen enjoyed the ceremony. As we were walking in, Dr. McDaniel mentioned that this was his 38th Opening Convocation. Can you imagine the changes that he has seen over the years. I wonder what things will be like 38 years from now.

I was moved today as I thought about the traditions that are passed down from class to class each year at Converse. Only a Converse grad really understands and values the meanings of these traditions. One of the most powerful traditions is that of the Honor Code. Many of my colleagues from other colleges are amazed at the levels of trust that we have between students and faculty at Converse.

I hope all of the freshmen and juniors are enjoying Big Sis Lil Sis activites!

Converse 101 first day

Today is the first day of Converse101. I look forward to meeting everyone! The beginning of the semester has been great so far.

Getting Ready
